Sample Bar February! (NZ Birchbox)

Sample Bar February!

Glam pack Review.

Hey guys so it's that time of month again. Yay! I received my February glam pack from www.samplebar.co.nz, and again for anyone who doesn't know what this is, it's a monthly subscription where you receive a selection of beauty product samples (and a few full sized if we're lucky), you try them and let sample bar know what you think. you can even get a discount on the full sized option if you like it, but check out the website for more deeetzz…

ooh its Pink in the inside this month…

So February theme makes total sense.
THE LOOK OF LOVE
with Feb being the love month with valentines day and all.

This months treats are supposedly gonna "bring out our inner goddess and maybe even turn a few heads too"

not sure what this cards about maybe to gift this pack to someone you love.. cute idea.

Numero uno:
"The Skincare Night Moisture Recharge Enriched- by Shiseido"
(phooaw what a mouthful)
This is a night cream, to mimic the glow of young love, counteract daytime stresses and intensively moisturize, of course I had to try this tonight after I washed my face (followed by last months eye cream I might add) it did really moisturize my skin,it feels super soft already, bet its even nicer after a nights sleep. a little went a long way too.

Value: 10ml sample $8.50
product two this month:
"Shine Ultra Lip Gloss- by MODELCO"
FULL SIZE YAY!!!
This lip gloss is in the color 'Strip Tease' (tried to swatch it on the left). It's a shimmering lipgloss designed to create a glamorous lacquered effect for smooth looking lips. It even has a mirror on the side of the gloss for easy, perfect application no matter where you are.
by the way this smells delicious too.
Value: $19
Threeeeeeeee:
"Tooth Spa"
This is a 100% natural toothpaste (and after all the hype about fluoride not being so great sounds good) it's free of artificial colors, artificial flavors and fluoride. Its non-foaming formula was a bit odd at the start but I could get used to it and the fresh orange flavor wasn't too bad and its made in NZ too. gotta love that.

Value: 50ml Sample $10.71 (full size 70
ml)
The only real sample this month:
(I am not complaining)
"Flirty Little Secret Firming Cream with Pheromones- by Booty parlor's"
I can't what to try this, A scented body lotion designed to firm your skin and add a subtle shimmer a bronzing.
I can not wait to try this sounds too good.
and the full size costing $67.99 you would hope it did as it claimed.

Value: 5ml sample estimate at about $2.50

This isn't even the last one..:
  "Lash Card"
Mascara shields, to make applying mascara so much easier for perfect results every time.
I was so surprised when I saw these as I was watching a you tube video of an IPSY (or Birchbox I can't remember) opening, the american equivalents and it had these and I thought to my self they look interesting and then I get them in my box. awesome. I will definitely be trying these out as my Mascara always is a messy job.! Hope they help. I'll let you know in the comments after I've tried them
Value: FULL SIZE AGAIN YAY $7.99
Our 6th product this month, Happy V-day:
  "SampleBar's heart shaped toe separators"
I even painted my toes tonight to try this one out. they are Too cute, perfect to finish our valentines theme, made to ensure your toes don't smudge or rub together, perfect toes and yes it works my toes too totes amaze (or maybe thats just the polish I chose tonight who knows..?)
I reveived 1 in my glam pack but they are bought in pairs for 3.99 making my...

Value: about $2
Toe separators in action with OPI Just Spotted the Lizard.
This Month Sample Bar gets a 6 out 5. I mean a whole extra sample (normally we only get 5) and only one sachet sized sample. 2 full sized, a deluxe sample, a decent sized sample and my toe separator.
Total value: $50.70

Simple Everyday hair up: messy side bun

Hair up EASY enough for everyday!

alright so we all know the morning can be a struggle, getting out of bed for one but doing something different with your hair that looks classy enough for everyday is always a mission. this is my favourite no heat required hairstyle for work that i get comments on every time by my clients, little do they know it took me under 10 MINUTES. here's how.

The finished look from the front and side.

Alright so start with your natural hair, rock what you have got.! I personally find this easier on day old hair but if you hate the thought of that do what you want. If your roots are looking a wee bit greasy i recommend a dry shampoo first, my favourite is the KMS makeover spray.

My natural day old hair.
Next you are gunna want to smooth the ends so you get a really professional finish I'm using Bed head by Tigi's After party, but feel free to use a serum or an oil what ever you prefer.
Smooth this through your mid lengths and ends.
Part your hair however you like, try different ways, I like a side part.

Just remember it doesn't have to be perfect :)
If you wanna skip this step to make it easier of course you can, but I love to add braids to my hair as they look so complex but once you figure them out they are so easy.
Heres a handy video to help you learn how: How to: French braid
But any way, braid your hair back on one side, toward the side you want the bun on.

stop about halfway back, just behind the ear.

secure the braid with a bobby pin, open it up and push it up under the braid to hide as much of the bobby pin as you can, if your hair is really thick just choose the bobby pins closest to your hair color and cross them over.

Next you just want to divide the back down the centre with a messy or zigzag part, secure the side without the braid on it away. Divide the loose side in two parts, and loosely twist them up

Then wrap it around itself and secure it by bobby pinning it, push bobby pins towards the centre around the 'bun' in four points. they will cross in the centre and stay secure.

Let the other side loose divide it in half and lightly backcomb the sections.
to back comb just run the comb toward the root once or twice

Really loosely plait the back section, then hold a tiny bit of the end and push the rest upward to mess it up then wrap it either over or under the existing bun and secure with a pin.

Then just simply smooth the last section back and wrap it under or over the bun and secure with a pin.
Then add a generous spritz of hairspray.!
Top view of loosened braid.

I like to just loosen the braid by pulling the actual plait piece, not the bits you put in on the way back, and pull a few bits out around the face to finish and viola..

Dermalogica Review

Dermalogica Review.

1 product I love... and 1 I regret purchasing.

Hey Beauties, if you're looking for some new skincare products you might be interested in dermalogica.. I recently decided it was time for a change and dermalogica has such grew reviews..

I purchased a few products from the range, one product I got was the ultra calming cleanser, reccomended on their website www.dermalogica.co.nz by using their skin analysis or face mapping page on the site. You answer 1 or 2 questions and they show you a skin routine recommended for you. I have very sensitive skin and this is the cleanser recommened for me.
This unfortunately did not make any miracles in the skin world for me, to start with i was using this morning and night followed by toner and moisturizer etc... to begin with my skin broke out, i know this is to be expected but once this cleared up my skin appeared dull even with full coverage makeup. also this did not last very long as I felt I needed alot of product to clean my face even after i had removed my makeup
BOTTOM LINE: I did not like this product and will not be repurchasing.

The other Product I bought was the daily microfoliant. This is the Holy grail of skincare. I begun just by using this once or twice a week as an exfoliator, but once i decided i really did not like my ultracalming cleanser i used this every morning, just by following the insructions on the bottle, it took about a week to fall in love. my skin appeared smoother, pores smaller, skin brighter, my makeup lasted longer thoughout the day too.
BOTTOM LINE: I love, love, love this and will continue to use this everymorning for a very long time.

lots of love
